Developing Mathematical Reasoners (K-12)

Participants will engage in a mathematical experience to learn what it looks like and feels like to learn to reason like mathematicians do. Participants will then learn the hierarchy of the domains of mathematical reasoning and how they apply to their grade level. They will learn to develop additive, multiplicative, proportional, and functional reasoning. Participants will then learn the instructional routine “Problem Strings” and how to maximize the learning from this routine in their classrooms.
