Shelley Yearley has been research partners with Tara Flynn since the start of the Ontario fractions research (led by Dr. Cathy Bruce at Trent University) in 2011, and are co-authors along with Cathy of the resource Rethinking Fractions: 8 Core Concepts to Support Assessment and Learning. Shelley retired from the classroom as a secondary school mathematics teacher after years as a K–12 curriculum consultant and provincial mathematics lead.

Tara Flynn has been research partners with Shelley Yearley since the start of the Ontario fractions research (led by Dr. Cathy Bruce at Trent University) in 2011, and are co-authors along with Cathy of the resource Rethinking Fractions: 8 Core Concepts to Support Assessment and Learning. Tara is the Director of Research the PEAR Learning Lab (Partners in Education and Action Research) in the Trent University School of Education.
